Oil and Gas Infrastructure Vulnerability Assessment
INTEK's Gulf Coast hurricane model was developed to estimate potential oil and refined product supply losses resulting from Golf Coast hurricanes of various sizes, intensities, and landfall locations. This model was updated and enhanced in 2015.
For the past three years, INTEK has provided rapid-response subject matter expertise to identify fuels-related infrastructure at risk, estimate potential crude oil and refined product supply losses and advise its clients on likely market impacts of hurricanes and other disasters, such as earthquakes, flooding, and human-caused disruptive events.
INTEK has designed, developed, and maintains a comprehensive Geographic Information System (GIS) containing locations, capacities, and other critical data for all US onshore and offshore oil and product pipelines, refineries, processing plants, crude and products terminals, ports, and rail systems. It also includes US military bases and other critical infrastructure. INTEK collected validated and integrated all of the underlying data from public and private sources.
